How much does Mayzlin Relocation cost?
Often, you’ll notice companies that offer top-tier customer service also have some of the highest prices around. With Mayzlin Relocation, that’s not the case. Based on the quotes we gathered, Mayzlin offers fair prices plus early reservation discounts.
Did you know Move.org readers get a 10% discount on their PODS reservation? If you don’t want to hire a full-service company or drive a rental truck across the country, read more about PODS or check out other top moving container companies.
You may also secure a discount if another customer cancels and Mayzlin needs to fill that available slot in their schedule. On top of that, Mayzlin will match any quote from a reputable carrier as long as they’re rated at a B+ or higher with the Better Business Bureau.
To get a better idea of their pricing and necessary deposits, we anonymously gathered three quotes from Mayzlin Relocation. In each move, we were quoted for a three bedroom house, or about 1,300 square feet of space on a moving truck. Unlike some carriers, Mayzlin quotes by cubic feet taken up on the moving truck, not the weight of your belongings. Here’s what we found:
Basic estimate price
|Memphis, Tenn. to Chicago, Ill.||569 miles|| |
|- $2,218.77 (customer cancellation discount)||$8,300|
|Pasadena, Calif. to Seattle, Wash.||1,137 miles|| |
|- $1,848.20 (customer cancellation discount)||$7,834|
|Virginia Beach, Va. to Phoenix, Ariz.||2,395 miles|| |
|- $4,000 (tariff discount/early reservation)||$9,942|
Data collected on 4/5/23. Based on quotes for a three-bedroom home. Prices may be subject to change.
For Mayzlin Relocation, your moving deposit is equal to 25% of your final quote. The remaining balance will be paid at the time of your move—the first half at pickup and the second half at delivery. For example, for the move from Memphis to Chicago, your deposit would be $2,075. You would then pay $3,112.50 at pickup and the same at dropoff.
In addition to these charges, there’s also coverage that you’ll likely want to purchase for your items. There are three levels of coverage offered by Mayzlin based on deductible amounts. For example, on the move from Pasadena to Seattle, we were given these options for coverage:
Full Value Protection Amount of Liability: $41,076.00 (Optional)
|Deductible Levels|| |
|Valuation Charge|| |
|Total Estimate Plus|| |

Why we recommend Mayzlin Relocation
Top-notch moving reviews
Mayzlin Relocation has a 4.6 out of 5—the highest customer review score of any long-distance moving company we’ve reviewed. While that’s an impressive feat, keep in mind that Mayzlin is a smaller and newer company than other top long-distance movers, so there are fewer reviews overall. Customer reviews consistently cite professional movers, communicative sales agents, and great savings compared to other long-distance carriers.
Mayzlin Relocation sales agents go above and beyond to help you prepare for moving day. Before you begin your inventory, Mayzlin agents walk through common moving scams with the customer and how to avoid them—even if you don’t end up using Mayzlin Relocation.
A low 25% deposit
Mayzlin’s 25% deposit is one of the lowest in the industry. Some companies require a 35%–50% deposit before your move, which can be a strain on your finances during an already expensive move. To get a better idea of how those percentages translate to pricing, check out the required deposits for a $7,500 move from some top long-distance moving companies:

We conducted intensive research to identify the best moving companies for long-distance moves and local moves, in addition to container moves, truck rentals, and hourly moving labor:
- Compare pricing transparency. We gather quotes, check for binding estimates, and read customer reviews about pricing to ensure each moving company’s prices are trustworthy.
- Review accreditation. We check every company’s records in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s database to confirm companies are properly authorized to transport household goods.
- Mystery shopping. We review every company’s website, pose as customers in calls to companies, and read customer reviews to analyze every company’s moving services, transit protection, and customer service. We also interview actual customers to learn how their moves went from start to finish.
- Site visits. We invite moving companies to our headquarters in Salt Lake City, UT, to share data and expertise. We verify the information they provide by comparing it to data gathered through independent research and interviews with other movers.
- Regular review. We routinely repeat this process to update our recommendations to reflect current data and trends. We also revise each review annually and make updates throughout the year.
