Oklahoma City, or OKC as it’s known locally, is full of museums, festivals, outdoor recreation, and family-friendly attractions. With a fantastic First Americans Museum, a Museum of Art, and the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, you can step back in time in OKC. There’s also a wonderful Zoo Sanctuary, professional sports, and parks galore.

In 2022, there were 183 public schools with over 158,000 students in Oklahoma City. The top-ranking elementary school in the city is Schwartz Elementary, which is in the top one percent of the state.3 If you’d rather steer away from public schools, there are also 41 private schools in the area, serving kids from kindergarten through twelfth grade.
